A wise man was once quoted as saying, “If there were no tribulation, there would be no rest; if there were no winter, there would be no summer.” Summer has finally arrived in Romania! Following a harsh winter on the streets and in the sewers of Bucharest, many of the street children and homeless families are anticipating the change of season with a renewed sense of hope!
Hope is the hallmark of our Hope Rescue Center! In the midst of abject suffering and poverty our staff spends many sleepless nights ministering to the needs of the street children. Our Hope Rescue Center Director for the past 8 years, Marian Zaharia, often spends his days in the office and his nights on the streets. Recently, Marian and some of the staff traveled all night to the hometown of a child that they had found living on the streets. Amidst all of the difficulties and challenges that the HRC staff faces they continue to tirelessly bring hope and healing to the hurting street children and families of Bucharest. It is Marian’s passion, as well as everyone else who works with Children’s Relief Network/Orasul Sperantei (City of Hope--Romania), to be agent’s of hope in reaching these lost and dying children.
