"Your five-year-old son has Hodgkins Disease." These are the words that were recently spoken to the Nistor family, one of the staff couples with our City of Hope project in Bucharest. In addition to their own biological son, the Nistor's have graciously opened up their home to 2 former street children and one abandoned baby (that they are currently in the process of adopting) and have worked tirelessly on behalf of orphaned and abandoned children in Romania.

In a recent conversation with Liviu, Ruben's father, he shared the struggles that he and his wife Felicia are going through. Shortly after one of their many visits to the hospital for Ruben's chemotherapy treatments Liviu said, "It was a difficult day for us at the hospital today. Ruben is receiving the chemotherapy treatments, but Felicia and I feel like we are receiving them as well...going through the suffering and pain with him." Hodgkin's Disease is a malignant (cancerous) growth of cells in the lymph system. Ruben's disease started as a large mass in the lymph nodes in his neck. We are hopeful for Ruben's healing and quick recovery. Because you, our donors and partners, are an intrinsic part of the CRN/City of Hope family, we wanted to share this considerable need with you and ask that you support us, and the Nistor's, as we pray for them and uphold them during this demanding and agonizing time in their life. The Nistor family has dedicated their lives to helping homeless and destitute children and families, this is an opportunity to give back into their lives and to support and bless them just as they have supported and been a blessing to so many others.

If you feel led to give an extra donation, in addition to your monthly giving, we can apply that to the Nistor Family Fund to ensure that Ruben receives the medical treatment that he needs. As you can imagine, the medical resources in a third-world country like Romania are much more limited than what we have at our disposal here in the United States. We appreciate you, our extended family, and thank you for your support and for your faithfulness to this organization.

Gratefully Yours ,
Angie Thomson, Staff and Children of Orasul Sperantei
